November Update and End of Year Financial Housekeeping

November 25, 2019

With Thanksgiving a few days away and the end of the year approaching, it’s easy to get bogged down while shopping for gifts and planning holiday parties. It’s a good idea to take time to do a bit of financial housekeeping as well. If you haven’t added any of these financial moves to your holiday to-do list, tackling them now can ensure that you’re on the right track when January rolls around.

  • New Year’s Eve is the year-end charitable gift deadline for check and wire transfers.
  • December 31st is the last day to take 2019 required minimum distributions for those who turned 70½ in or before 2018.
  • December 31st is the contribution deadline to qualify for a 529 plan tax deduction.

As always, we also wanted to check in with you to see if you had any life changes or updates that you need us to attend to (i.e., new job, promotion, marriage, new baby or grandchild, etc.).  If we can be of service in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us.

All of us at Edelman Wealth Management Group would like to wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving.
